2010 Exhibition - Edge

MEDIA RELEASE

Edge is a word which twelve members of the Tin Shed Art Group have found to be full of meanings and nuances, ranging from the water’s edge, to the geological , soft v hard, psychological states, film noir, endurance and sand shadows, - and that’s  just for starters!  Add in monoprints, abstracts, scraps of hessian, oils, acrylics and the surreal, and visitors to the forthcoming 17th exhibition of the TSAG are assured of a vibrant and stimulating experience.

The show is at the Watson Art Centre, Aspinall St, Watson, 12 – 21 November, Thurs to Sun, 10 to 4 pm.

The Tin Shed Art Group was greatly saddened recently by the death of one of its founding members, Gutta Schoefl.  We will certainly miss her sense of humour and bright intelligence, as well as her deep and knowledgeable interest in birds, native flowers and the environment.  She was also a long-time member of the Potters’ Society and will be remembered for her creation of some beautifully sophisticated ceramic work. Some of Gutta's paintings were included in this exhibition.

This photo looks towards the front of the gallery
where Ken's social statement paintings were
psycologically edgy.
To the right, Sue's paintings explored
different types of physical edges.

This was the buyers corner with Tim and Joan both selling very well.

What a very pleasant evening we had. Our volunteers, Vic & Catherine, dispensed the bubbly (and the ocassional oragne juice) while the rest us worked hard to demolish the wonderful cheese platters provided by Sue and Clare.

Looking towards the back of the gallery we can see a sselection of art works from Peggy and Alan.
